About This Place

Nestled conveniently at 5769 Huntington Dr N in Los Angeles, Charlie's Trio is an inviting Italian and American restaurant that masterfully balances comfort with vibrant flavors. Whether you’re craving a hearty slice of pepperoni pizza or the elegant richness of Chicken Marsala, this local gem serves up dishes that feel like a warm, flavorful embrace.

The menu at Charlie's Trio is a delightful crossing of classic Italian favorites and beloved American comfort foods, each prepared to please both the casual diner and the discerning palate. Imagine savoring their perfectly seasoned Shrimp Scampi, where tender shrimp meet a garlic-infused buttery sauce, or indulging in their iconic Broasted Fried Chicken, crisped to golden perfection and unlike any fried chicken you’ve tasted before.

Patrons also rave about the eggplant parmesan spaghetti marinara, a dish that balances the tangy depth of marinara with the savory earthiness of breaded eggplant and luscious melted cheese. Pizza lovers are in for a treat with options like the Casalinga, loaded with garlic, pepperoni, sun-dried tomatoes, and a luscious blend of mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, delivering a medley of textures and bold flavors in every bite. For a fresh twist, the Romana pizza offers artichoke hearts and fresh tomatoes, evoking a lush garden’s bounty.

The dining atmosphere at Charlie’s Trio exudes a warm neighborhood charm — a crossroads where South Pasadena, Alhambra, and Los Angeles converge. With two cozy bar areas, it’s the perfect spot to catch a game while sipping on a refreshing glass of sangria or enjoying the unbeatable bottomless mimosas during happy hour. Guests consistently comment on the friendly, attentive staff that make every visit feel like catching up with old friends.

Don’t miss the starters that elevate your meal experience: crispy fried mozzarella sticks, flavorful spinach salad, or the innovative macaroni and cheese balls that are crispy on the outside and decadently melty within. And for those with a sweet tooth, their fruit tart, classic cheesecake, and sizable chocolate walnut chip cookie provide indulgent finishes that linger on the palate in the best way.

Time and again, Charlie's Trio has proven itself a culinary cornerstone, admired for its unfussy yet satisfying fare. As Nelson Abreu aptly puts it, it’s “a wonderful neighborhood gem and nexus for the community,” while longtime patron Elda Diaz cherishes it as a staple for family gatherings, celebrations, and casual lunches alike. Melinda Skaar’s enthusiasm for the fresh bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar and the generous portions speaks to the restaurant’s commitment to authenticity and value.

Whether you’re in the mood for a lively happy hour, a romantic date night, or a cozy solo dinner, Charlie’s Trio welcomes you with open arms and plates full of soul-soothing Italian-American favorites. Their menu’s blend of tradition and creativity invites guests to savor every bite and linger a little longer in a setting where good food and community go hand in hand.

A wonderful neighborhood gem and nexus for the community. Fun happy hour snacks and refreshments and good unfussy food, nice service. Extended variety of food, including breasted chicken, pastas, pizza, appetizers, deserts. There are two bar areas too to catch games.

This is a staple for me , friends and family. The staff is wonderful to us. Been going there for years. I do like the little upgrades. Great for just dinning alone or happy hour or date night, birthday or groups! Happy hour menu is really good. The broadest chicken is like no other spot! I even had my colleagues go there and eat for lunch . Catering is also great. We've ordered from there with no hassle on pick or delivery. Try the martinis, shrimp scampi is delicious.

Fun place at the corner of Alhambra, South Pasadena and LA. I can't get enough of the eggplant parmigian, personal pizzas, and the fresh bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We usually order a small carafe of chianti. Great food and value. There is a happy hour before 6 pm.

We had the Pesto shrimp pizza and the calamari here for lunch. The pizza was amazing the calamari was alright not great not bad. The Pesto sheep pizza was very cheesy, I loved that, had some pine nuts which added a unique flavor, the breading was sooooooo good. The shrimp tastes a little funny but was big plump and good. As for the sauce you can never go wrong with Pesto. They have a wide selection of food and drinks. Service is fantastic. The servers are all very kind and friendly. Love that. Food came out pretty quick but it was lunch might be different for dinner. Plenty of free parking on the back. There is also street parking. All around a fantastic place for Italian cuisine. They just celebrated their 50 year anniversary. They got their recipes down for sure. Great food Great price Great service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Simchelin Stars
